Two facts upfront: I have been a sports enthusiast for many years, and I happen to have rather long hair. Track and field, rugby or competitive swimming already taught me that these two ingredients occasionally don’t go together very well, but it was really back in 2008 when I started racing motor-cycles that I found myself continuously looking for possible ways to protect my hair from wind and weather.

Back then at the end of a riding season I was in for a serious hair cut to get rid of the damaged ends, not mentioning the terrible tangles after every ride. Constantly I had to use all sorts of hair-care products to have my hair look good again. So the idea grew on me to stash my hair away inside a protecting tube. But how do you go about it, if you are searching a product that doesn’t exist? You’ll develop it by yourself. This was the beginning of INGRIDSGEAR, a company that nowadays focusses on a wider range of protective solutions, with the hear protector still remaining its core product.
